Data is what we do. We have various methods in place to help ensure we get the cleanest and most accurate data.
Remember - other companies play the numbers game. Major Data Sources
We purchase business data from major data sources (anyone with over 10 million records). Often times we start off with roughly 15-16 million listings - by the time we are done de-duping and cleaning we are left with roughly 10 million listings. Sources include State government, Federal Government, Credit companies, and other B2B companies. Not all source have all pertinent information (name, address, phone, and category). But by triangulating through multiple sources, we can accurately predict if a business exists.
Niche Providers
Beyond the major data sources, there are literally hundreds of companies out there that have accurate business data. From CMRs (certified marketing reps) to small business advertising companies to independent directory publishers to online niche directories, there are many sources of pinpoint accurate local data. Individually they do not have much data - but combined, it becomes a very significant source. We are provided with information on businesses that is added to our database. We even provide exclusive data verification for many companies, in which we call a business to verify their information. This means data you won't find anywhere else.
Our Users
In the spirit of transparency and openness, we let local visitors and business owners to submit updated information and new businesses to our database. In this way we are harnessing entire communities to help keep our data. All user submissions are verified with a phone call. Since inception, we have had over 100,000 submissions. These are 100,000 updates that no other data company can claim.
What we Don't Do
We don't scrape any content. We don't crawl anything on the internet. We don't work with the traditional business data companies.
